Medevac off Dragonera
On Jnue 12, 2026, the 'Massalia' issued the request for the medical evacuation of a passenger, who had fallen ill, while the ferry was en route from Marseille to Tangier The ship was sailing 35 nautical miles west of Dragonera. The CCS Palma of Salvamento Marítimo mobiliz ed the SAR helicopterHelimer 203, piloted by Avincis Global, which hoisted the patient and transported him to the Son Espases Hospital for medical treatment.
Medevac off Motril
On Dec 13, 2025, a medical evacuation was requested by the CROSS Gris Nez from the 'Massalia' which was located 11 nautical miles south of Motril, sailing eastbound. The CCS Almería of Salvamento Marítimo mobilised the SAR helicopter Helimer 211, which hoisted the French citizen and transported him to the Almería airport, where an ambulance picke him up for further transfer to hospital.
Normandia to become Massilia
The 'Normandie' will be renamed “Massilia” when Brittany Ferries effectively hands it over to La Meridionale in April 2025, when the ferry “Guillaume de Normandie” will join the Portsmouth-Caen line. A few days ago the ship passed through Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on its delivery trip and is on its way to Astander, where it will arrive on Feb 18 and receive the last details before its next incorporation. From June, the “Massilia” will replace the ferry “Pelagos” on the Marseille-Tangier line. This ship has been sold to the Egyptian company UME.
