Ship with castaways arrived in La Guaira

The National Institute of Aquatic Spaces (INEA) of Venezuela on MAy 29, 2022, received nine of 16 crew members of the Comores flagged tank m/v 'Cetus', which had capsized 130 nautical miles northwest of Aruba. and which were rescued by the 'Melba', in the Port of La Guaira. Among them werre three Venezuelans, five Dominicans and one Cuban. The rescue actions were undertaken in coordination with the consulates of Cuba and the Dominican Republic, jointly with the Coast Guard Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB). The tanker had capsized on May 27 in stormy seas.
