Grounding on the Don

The 'Mir Jalal Pashayev' ran aground on Dec 1, 2019, at 4.30 a.m. at km mark 3164.5 on the river Don, while proceeding downstream from Rostov towards the Azov Sea with a cargo of sunflower sheet. The ship was bound for Turkey. Attempts were started to refloat the vessel which was stuck in pos. 47° 7.82' N 039° 27.35' E with the help of the tug 'Pal 4'.

Mir Jalal Pashayev didn’t drop anchor in emergency while transiting Bosphorus

Palmali’s Maritime Safety Department sent to Maritime Bulletin an e-mail with details of a minor accident with m/v Mir Jalal Pashayev, which belongs to Palmali. Freighter Mir Jalal Pashayev didn’t drop anchor in emergency trying to avoid grounding on July 24 while transiting Istanbul Strait, as it was previously reported. The engine suddenly stopped but went on again in three minutes, speed was lost though, and Vessel Traffic System sent to Mir Jalal Pashayev tug and pilot, notwithstanding the assurances from the Master that everything went in normal and was under control. Nevertheless, vessel was ordered to anchor at Sector A4 anchorage, there was no towage, vessel proceeded to anchorage under own power with tug alongside. In 12 hours after dropping an anchor all formalities were completed, including agent’s visit, and vessel was put in transit list, in the morning July 25 vessel resumed voyage. Engine failure in Bosporus

Enroute Istanbul-Taganrok the "Mir Jalal Pashayev" suffered an engine failure in the Bosporus on July 23, 2012, and drifted off Üsküdar. The crew was able to stop the ship bz an emergencz anchoring before it went aground. The Coastguard was notified and the ship taken in tow to Yenikapı for repairs.
