Engine trouble in St. Lawrence Estuary
On Feb 12, 2021, at 9.20 a.m. the 'Montreal Express' had to stop its main engine to investigate a lubrication system problem in the St. Lawrence Estuary off Pointe des Monts, Quebec, in position 49 13 18.7 N, 067 17 30.3 W. The crew carried out repairs, and the vessel then resumed its voyage from Montreal to Antwerp, ETA Feb 18.
Exhaust valve failure
The 'Montreal Express' suffered a failure of an exhaust valve in the main engine unit No. 5 in position 47 56 36.5 N, 069 44 16.7 W, eight miles northeast of Saint-Simeon, on March 18. 2020, at 02.45 a.m. The vessel continued its voyage in he Gulf of St. Lawrence at a reduced speed. It was enroute from Montreal to Southampton, UK, with an ETA as of March 26.
Auxiliary engine failure at Sept Iles
The 'Montreal Express' suffered a failure of its No. 2 auxiliary engine 48 miles south-southeast of Sept-Iles, Quebec, in position 49 26 39.8 N, 066 00 24.7 W, on Feb 11, 2020, around 5 p.m. Repairs were carried out by a third-party contractor in Montreal, and the vessel continued its voyage to Antwerp on Feb 16 at 2.40 p.m. with an ETA as of Feb 26.
