Virus affected vessel back in Mar del Plata

Thu Jun 04 13:20:08 CEST 2020 Timsen

The "Natalia" returned to the port of Mar del Plata in the night of June 2 with its 29 isolated crew members because some of them had showed feverish symptoms at sea. SAME personnel received them at the quay and evaluated the condition of those affected to determine how many had to apply the protocol of transfer and sanitary containment. A device was established to lead people to one of the prepared hotels, while the others remained on the ship to be swabbed. The ship had set sail from Mar del Plata two weeks ago and before doing so, all the fishermen underwent the corresponding sanitary protocol. However, the sudden appearance of feverish pictures in at least one crew member and diarrhea of five others forced the return while fishing 200 miles from Mar del Plata. Fishing vessel with suspicious cases returns to Mar del Plata

Tue Jun 02 20:56:23 CEST 2020 Timsen

The coronavirus sanitary protocol was activated by the Prefecture, the health authorities and the shipping companyin the port of Mar del Palata as the 'Natalia' with 29 sailors on board returns for suspicious cases presenting some symptoms similar to those of the coronavirus. On June 2, 2020, around 9 p.m. the "Natalia" arrived at the port of Mar del Plata. 11 sailors are from Necochea, where coronavirus cases have multiplied in recent days. In fact, one of those sailors presented a feverish picture in the afternoon. There were two cases of sailors with fever, one is already recovered, and there were some people with stomach problems and vomiting. It may be poisoning, but everything will be much clearer when all the tests have been carried out as soon as possible by medical personnel. The ship had sailed from Mar del Plata approximately two weeks ago, after complying with all the sanitary measures ordered by the authorities. When it was decided to return to the port, it was 200 miles from Mar del Plata. A male nurse was on board, who reportedly reported the crew's condition to the authorities. The crew of the "Natalia" will be attended by SAME personnel and in the event of detecting suspected cases of coronavirus, they will immediately be isolated and housed in the hotels that the Municipality has for this purpose.
