Namibia's Pelagic Industry Welcomes Most Advanced Fishing Vessel

Local pelagic fish producer United Fishing Enterprises (UFE) received the first advanced purse seiner fishing vessel to be purchased in Namibia in decades, Namibia Press Agency reported on May 21st, 2012. The MV Liafjell was welcomed at Walvis Bay port on Friday and is expected to improve efficiency in UFE's operation and processes. The fishing vessel worth about US$5.4 million was obtained from Norway and is considered the most advanced fishing vessel found in Namibian waters.
