Last laid up offshore ship back in service

Thu Sep 15 11:43:06 CEST 2022 Timsen

Brokers said there was no slack in the system after 60 ships were sold out of oil and gas sector. The last supply vessel, the 'Ocean Monarch', has exited thelay-up in Haldia, signalling the end of a difficult period for shipowners. The ship had been laid up in Great Yarmouth, UK, since July 2018, a total of 1,525 days. Ships began to be stacked in 2015 as rates tanked, with nearly 120 PSVs idle in docks at the market’s nadir in 2016 and 2017.
