Urea carrier Otong Kosasih caugh fire due to electrical shortage September 20
Urea carrier OTONG KOSASIH suffered an onboard fire. The vessel is now docked in Kalidoni Palembang, South Sumatra. The fire started in one of the cabins at around 1000 LT Sep 20, and spread to the other floors, engulfing captain’s cabin and threatening the bridge. 28 crew which were on board at the time all of which made it ashore to safety. Five fire trucks and four tugs were engaged in fighting the fire which took three hours to contain.
