Landing platform damage in Kavala

The Port Authority of Kavala was informed that the 'Panagia Thasou' while preparing to depart from the port of Eleftheres to the port of Prinos Thassou with a cargo of 12 drums and 12 persons as attendants of the drums, suffered a damage to its landing platform, rendering it unable to lift and secure it, on Oct 25, 2023, at about 09.10 a.m. UTC. The drums and their attendants were immediately disembarked from the ship. After the damage was confirmed by the Local Ship Inspection Unit, the ship was prohibited from sailing by the Port Authority, until a class maintenance certificate was issued by the classification society monitoring the ship.

Mechanical damage in Thassou

The "Panagia Thassou" moored in the Prinos Thassou Port en route from Kavala due to a mechanical failure of th estarboard side main engine on June 5 at 7.15 p.m. The Port Department of Thassos banned the ferry from sailing until the repair of the damage and the presentation of a certificate of searworthiness by the classification society which is monitoring the ship, and the return to the scheduled route.
