Tour boat slammed into tanker
On Mar 1, 2016, around 5 p.m. the "Pannenkoekenboot 3" was in collision with a tanker in Nijmegen. The 50 passengers were disembarked by a patrol boat of Rijkswaterstaat after the accident. No one was injured. The ship was on a round trip when it suffered engine damage and slammed into the gas loaden tank barge. With the bow thruster the master of the passenger ship could avoid a second collision. The damage to the hull was minor, but inside there was some damage to the interior. The kitchen of the restaurant was a mess. The tanker with a gas cargo on board was able to continue the journey to Millingen upon Rhine. The "Pannekoekenboot 3" was towed to the Waal Port in Nijmegen.
