Fire in generator room
On Aug 28, 2021, a fire broke out in the engine room of the 'Pietro Manunta' which was moored at berrh 22 of the Bengasi dock in the port of Livorno. Around 11.30 a.m. the crew saw smoke coming out of the engine room and raised the alarm to the harbour master and the fire brigade. The patrol boat 'CP 867' of the Italian Coast Guardm the 'VFR 09' of the fire brigade and the tug 'Romito' were mobilized. The fire which was located in the generator room was extinguished in a short time, no injuries were reported. The smoke was ventilated, and the ship was cooled with water spray. The firefighters then used the thermal imaging camera to check the temperature in the generator room. Ship traffic in port was interrupted for one hour as a precaution. After the fire was out out, experts of Rina, the harbour master and the fire brigade were checking the condition on board. On Oct 10 at 3.30 p.m. the "Helena" sailed from the Konstin Quay to the Schlutup Quay in Travemuende after completition of engine repairs and was moored at berth 2, assisted by the Luebeck-based tug "Axel".

On Nov 7 around 2-3 a.m. the Finish ferry "Athela" (IMO: 8911736) will arrive at Luebeck coming from Husum in Sweden to replace the "Helena" which is still undergoing repairs to its damaged machine at the Konstin Quay in Luebeck.
