Engine failure in Barents Sea
On Feb 21, 2021, the 'Polaris-MK 0355', suffered an engine failure in the Barents Sea near the Rybachiy peninsula in vicinity 70 18 00 N, 32 22 48 E. The Russian salvage tug 'Murmanryba' was sent from Murmansk to assist the vessel, and arrived on the scene around 9 p.m. On Feb 23 at midday the 'Polaris' was about to enter the port of Murmansk.
Disabled trawler towed to Murmansk
The 'Polaris - MK 0355' with 10 crew members on board sent a distress signal after it was disabled by its trawl-nets which had become entangled in its propulsion in the eastern part of the Barents Sea on Oct 21, 2019. The Russian salvage tug 'Murmanryba' was sent to assist and took the trawler in tow. As the weather conditions were deteriorating, the tow was becoming difficult due to the state of the sea. On Oct 23 at 5 p.m. the 'Polaris' was safe in port.
Trawler grounded in Kola Bay
The "Polaris" ran aground in the Kola Bay, near Murmansk, on or before Sep 28, 2018. The captain of the fishing vessel is planning to refloat it independently during high tide. Since the fishing vessel, lost power it requested for a military assistance. A naval tug has towed the vessel to Murmansk fishing port.
