Medevac off Comodoro Rivadavia

On Sep 5, 2023, a helicopter of the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA) medevaced a crew member of the 'Puente Chico', who needed urgent medical attention, while the ship was sailing more than 300 kilometers from the Chubut city of Comodoro Rivadavia. The 42-year-old man suffered a decompensation and subsequent headache, in his chest and in his left arm. The master established a radio communication with the Comodoro Rivadavia Maritime Traffic Management Center, and the medevac was advised. The ship began sailing towards the port of Rawson. An emergency team, made up of a doctor and personnel highly trained to act in this type of rescue, left for the location of the ship with a plane and a helicopter. Once on scene, a sanitary basket was lowered and the crew member was hoisted. Once aboard, he received the first care on board.
