Former Queen of Esquimalt now destined for Mexico

Fri Jun 03 07:27:36 CEST 2011 arnekiel

On Wednesday morning, the Princess Jacqueline, formerly the B.C. Ferry Queen of Esquimalt, was taken under tow, destined for the Mexican port of Ensenada, just south of San Diego, according to Diane Ward of BlueWave Marine Surveyors, the company that has tended the orphan ship since she arrived in 2008. "They say it's going for scrap, but you'll see, it will go into service in Mexico," Ward said. It's a far different fate from what the Chinese investors who purchased her in 2008 had in mind. "They paid B.C. Ferries $1.7 million and lost it," Ward said. More at http://www.timescolonist.com/entertainment/Former+Queen+Esquimalt+destined+Mexico/4880866/story.html
