Ferry delayed due too medical emergency

Wed Aug 16 11:18:41 CEST 2023 Timsen

The 'Queen of Surrey', serving between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale, departed 78 minutes behind schedule for the 3:35 p.m. sailing from Langdale (Sunshine Coast) to Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) due to an earlier medical emergency. The 'Queen of Surrey' returned to Langdale port shortly after departing for its 8:40 a.m. run because of a medical emergency, which was soon resolved. A service notice issued shortly after the event said the ship was 35 minutes behind schedule at that point.

Abandoned car caused a kerfuffle

Tue May 09 11:32:33 CEST 2023 Timsen

An abandoned car caused a kerfuffle on the 'Queen of Surrey' in the morning of May 6. The ferry departed from Langdale nearly an hour behind schedule after the crew noticed a vehicle without a driver on the ship when it docked at the Sunshine Coast port. As part of standard safety procedures, the crew searched the vessel and notified police and Coast Guard. They learned from the police that the driver had walked off the vessel and took public transit. A service notice issued by BC Ferries at 11:40 p.m. said the “police incident” has been resolved.

Ferry returns to service later than scheduled

Tue Mar 21 11:17:47 CET 2023 Timsen

The 'Queen of Surrey' was scheduled to return to the Langdale terminal in Vancouver on March 21, 2023, but it won’t go back into active service until April 1,. The ship will remain docked after its arrival and in the week that follows, the final portion of the ship's refit work will take place. That will include sea trials and practice drills. On April 1, the ship is slated to recommence service on Route 3, starting with the 3:15 p.m. sailing out of Langdale.
