138 workers evacuated from burning tanker

138 workers who were on board the "Randgrid" were evacuated from the tanker at Mekjarvik in Stavanger when it started burning in the engine room on Sep 9, 2017. Several contractors had jobs on board. 20 people were left to extinguish the fire. The fire department was alerted at 2.51 p.m. and was quickly table to master the fire. In the night the ship was ventilated and guarded. Seven people have been treated or treated by healthcare professionals after being exposed to smoke.
