On Feb 15, 2019, at 1.30 p.m. it was announced by the Swedish shipyard Swede Ship Marine, northwest of Gothenburg, that the "Idar Ulstein" can be repaired, 2,5 months after the lifeboat had run aground at Grytastranda. The yard is the same where the boat was built and on which also the next boat of the same class, the "Odd Fellow III" is short before completion. The boat, which will be in based in Bodø is to be baptized in April, and on May 19 it will come to Ålesund, Holen says. The lifeboat "Hans Herman Horn" was replacing the "Idar Ulstein" on its station since the accident.
