Search for lost crew member suspended

Fri May 25 10:17:36 CEST 2018 Timsen

On May 25, 2018, at 2 a.m. the Danish Defense Operations Center suspended the search for a crew member of the "Chris" who fell over board four miles east-south-east of the south tip of Amager on May 24 at 10 p.m. It was estimated that it was no longer likely to find him due to the sea state. The search started on a very small and was then expanded to 24 square kilometers because the wind and sea conditions had changed. Rescue services from both Denmark and Sweden participated in the search. The "Chris" had returned too and searched for about an hour before resuming the voyage from Hamburg, where she had sailed on May 22, to Riga, ETA May 27, 2 p.m.
