91 migrants assisted off Punta Rasca
On April 16, a fishing vessel located a cayuco with migrants eight nautical miles southwest of Punta Rasca (Tenerife). The 'Salvamar Alpheratz' was mmobilized to assist and accompanied the cayuco to Los Cristianos, where the 91 sub-Saharan people disembarked, among them 44 men, 17 women and 30 minors. 100 migrants rescued off Los Cristianos
The 'Salvamar Alpheratz', the SAR helicopter Helimer 206 and the ferry 'Tirjana Volcano' were mobilizied to a cayuco giving different positions in distres calls. The ferry finally located the boat, the Helimer 206 updated the postition, and the 'Salvamar Alpheratz' rescued about 100 people. 79 migrants rescued in two missions
On Jan 26 the 'Salvamar Menkalinan' rescued 42 sub-Saharan people from a canoe eight nautical miles west of Los Cristianos. They were transferred to Playa San Juan. The 'Salvamar Alpheratz' located and accompanied a canoe with 37 sub-Saharan migrants on board to the port of Los Cristianos. The resonses were coordinated by the CCS Tenerife of Salvamento Marítimo.
