Damaged catamaran escorted to port
The catamaran 'First Dance' with three crew members on board was in collision with a merchant ship six nautical miles from Tapia de Casariego on March 17, 2023, at 2.15 a.m. The catamaran suffered damage, but was able to navigate under its own power to Ribadeo accompanied by the 'Salvamar Capella'. The response was coordinated by the MRCC of Salvamnto Marítimo in Gijón.
Motor boat towed to San Esteban
On Dec 27, 2022, the 'Salvamar Capella' has towed the motor boat 'Vitos' to San Esteban, which hadd been disabled and adrift two nautical miles northeast of Cudillero, after a rope got entangled in the propeller.
Fishing vessel towed to port
The SPanish fishing vessel 'San Roque' was disabled and went adrift five nautical miles north of Cudillero due to an engine failure on Oct 4, 2022. The 'Salvamar Capella' was mobilized by the CCS Gijón of Salvamento Marítimo. It took the ship in tow and safely pulled it to the port.
