Catamaran towed to port after suffering damage in interaction with orcas
On June 5, the catamaran 'Ten', with three crew members on board, requested assistance after an interaction with orcas, whichhad damaged both rudders of the vessel about 17.6 nautical miles west of Cape Trafalgar. There was no water ingress. The CCS Tarifa of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Enif', which took the yacht in tow and safely pulled it to the port of Barbate. Rescue operation for migrants on toy boats
Six migrants aboard two toy boats got in distress on May 26, about 25 nautical miles southwest of Cape Trafalgar, and alerted Salvamento Marítimo by telephone. The CCS Tarifa mobilized the 'Salvamar Enif' and issued navigational warnings. The boats were located by a merchant ship and an SAR aircraft . The 'Salvamar Enif' proceeded to the position and rescued the North African migrants in good condition. They were transported to Cádiz.
Sailing yacht towed to Barbate
The sailboat 'Mayavi' was disabled and arifted on the early morning of May 18, in the Strait of Gibraltar after a fishing net had got caught in its propeller.The 'Salvamar Enif' was mobilized to assist by the CCS Tarifa of Salvamento Maritimo. It took the yacht in tow and safely pulled it to the port of Barbate.
