Troubled yacht towed to port
The 'Salvamar Pollux' was mobilized by the CCS Valencia of Salvamento Marítimo in the afternoon of Feb 22, 2024, to assist the sailing yacht 'Kalinka'. The sailboat had been left adrift about 500 meters from the port of Port Saplaya. It was taken in tow and safely pulled to Valencia. SAR boat assisted after sinking of catamaran
The MRCC of Salvamento Marítimo in Valencia mobilized the SAR helicopter Helimer 220 and the 'Salvamar Pollux' due to the sinking of the catamaran 'Sophisticat' more than 20 nautical miles from the coast. The Helimer 220 rescued the two crew members frim a raft with hypothermia and transported them to a hospital in Ibiza. The 'Salvamar Pollux' recovered the raft.
Boat with three persons on board towed to Valencia
On Fb 2, 2023, the pleasure boat 'Meimei' went adrift due to a motor defect with three people on board in front of Pinedo. The crew requested towing assistance, and the CCS Valencia of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Pollux', which safely pulled the boat to the Marina Real in Valencia.
