Bulk carrier grounded on St. Lawrence River

The 'Patagonman' ran aground in front of the Cote St Catherine Lock on the St. Lawrence river, upstream of Montreal, on Dec 11, 2022, en route from Bandirma to Les Escoumins. The bulk carrier was refloated several hours later with tug assistance and berthed at Sainte Catherine, Montral, at 11.20 a.m. A cargo ship and an oil tanker were forced to wait near the lock until the bulk carrier was removed. Allision on Welland Canal

The 'Patagonman', en route from Port Weller, allided with the upper approach wall of the Welland Canal's lock No. 7 in Thorold, Ontario, in position 43 07 18.1 N, 079 11 39.4 E on April 25, 2022, at 10 a.m. No damage or pollution were reported, and the ship continued the voyage towards Detroit, where it arrived on April 26 at 7.30 a.m.
