Disabled fishing vessel towed to port
The 'Sanderling No.1' with three crew members on board was disabled and ran out of fuel in position 54 06 04.2N, 130 29 32.4W, at Chatham Sound near Creak Island, B.C., on Oct 16, 2021, at 7.20 a.m. The ship requested assistance, and the patrol vessel 'McIntyre Bay' of the Canadian Coast Guard lifeboat safely towed the vessel to Port Edward.
Fishing vessel disabled in Queen Charlotte Sound
The 'Sanderling No.1' (58 gt, built 1974), with four crew members on board, was disabled due to an engine failure in the Queen Charlotte Sound, British Columbia, in position 51 13 24.0N, 127 49 18.0W, on Jan 17, 2020, at 10.55 a.m. The Canadian Coast Guard deployed the lifeboat 'Cape Sutil' which took the vessel in tow and pulled it to Takush Harbour.
