Tug ran aground

The 'Sandra Mary' with five crew members on board ran aground while transiting the St. Lawrence River on the Lac Saint-Pierre, in position 46 08 03N, 72 57 04W, about eight nautical miles from Sorel on Aug 10 at 12.15 a.m. The tug was refloated with the assistance of another tug the same day. No damage or pollution was reported.

Tug started taking on water

The 'Sandra Mary' started taking on water and was at a risk of sinking 8.5 nautical miles south of Charlottetown on Aug 12, 2021, short past noon. The Canadian Coast Guard deployed the 'Samuel Risley' to assist with additional pumps. The situation could be brought under control. The crew carried out repairs, and the vessel resumed its voyage.

Allision with lock gate

The 'Sandra Mary' while transporting the barge 'Beaver Neptune', allided with the gate of the Canso Canal Lock in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, in position 45 38 56.3N, 061 24 54.4W, on June 19, 2021, a 8.50 p.m. No pollution or injuries were reported. The tug berthed in Point Tupper and continued its voyage on June 23, en route from Port Hawkesbury to Sorel with an ETA as of July 2.
