Porpulsion failure on St. Lawrence River
The 'Sarah Desgagnes', en route from Port Cartier, suffered a propulsion failure in position 47 52 01N, 69 48 54W, while transiting the St. Lawrence River off Saint Simeon on June 25, 2021. The crew carried out repairs which allowed the vessel to resume its voyage the same day. It berthed in Quebec where it remained stationary as of June 30.
Engine failure off Vercheres
The 'Sarah Desgagnes' suffered a main engine failure off Vercheres, Quebec, in position 45 46 43.8 N, 073 21 58.1 W, on Feb 15, 2020, at 01.50 a.m. The ship continued its voyage at reduced speed but later had to anchor off Becancour, Quebec. The crew carried out repairs, and the 'Sarah Desgagnes' resumed its voyage from Montreal to Saint John where she arrived on Feb 20 at 2.30 p.m.
Medevac in St. Brides Bay
On Feb 14, 2016, at 2.15 p.m. zjr St Davids RNLI all-weather lifeboat §Garside§ was tasked to the §Sarah Desgagnes§ to help evacuate a 26-year-old male Canadian national crew man who was suffering with an infected foot and leg. The tanker was in St Brides Bay and once on scene the lifeboat came alongside the and two of the volunteer lifeboat crew members went on board to assess the casualty, before he was transferred onto the lifeboat. St Davids RNLI lifeboat then returned to the lifeboat station at St Justinian, where the casualty was met by St Davids Coastguards, before being taken to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest for treatment.
