Thu Aug 02 11:05:37 CEST 2018 Timsen

On Aug 1 the "Sarost 5" with 40 migrants aboard docked in Sfax where they were disembarked after three weeks on sea. Three of them, among them two pregnant women, were taken to a hospital. The migrants had started on July 13 in Syria and initially were rescued by a Malta flagged ship from which they were transferred onto the "Sarost 5" three days later. For days the ship was moored off Sfax without getting permission to enter befor the Tunesian MP Youssef Chahed allowed the vessel to berth for humanitarian reasons. Italiy, Malta and Tunesia had refused to accept the refugees for weeks. Sat Jul 21 23:31:05 CEST 2018 Timsen

A supply ship moved to the "Sarost 5" to supply it with food and water as well as 40 mattresses donated by the Tunisian Red Cross to replace the straw mats on which 40 rescued migrants were sleeping since July 15, 2018. The people rescued were between 17 and 36 years old and among them were two pregnant women. They were from Egypt, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Senegal, Guinea, Cote d'Ivoire, Sierra Leone and Ambazonia. The 40 migrants were rescued after five days adrift on July 15 off the coast of Zarzis, in the south of Tunisia. The migrants were resisting to dock in a Tunisian port.
