Master in hospital following grounding

After the grounding of the "Segredas do Mare" in the morning of Oct 23, 2015, at 2 a.m. three miles off Sesimbra, the ship was waiting to be towed off the rocks. The f/v "Jonas David" had informed the MRCC Lisbon about the shipwreck, and in the rescue operation the lifeboats "Escorpião" and "Figueira da Foz", an EH-101 da helicopter of the Portuguesea Airforce, the lifeguard Setúbal and a Navy boat were involved. Eight of the Crew were saved by the lifeboat from Sesimbra, four by vessels of the Maritime Police and two by the fishing vessel "Louis Adrião" Also the f/v "Pérola de Sesimbra" assisted. In the port a medical emergency team and four ambulances were offering medical care. The master of the vessel, Rapa Manel, was taken to the Hospital of Setúbal for further Treatment, others were transported to Sesimbra, four of them refused any medical treatment. Fishing vessel sinks off Sesimbra, Portugal, 14 crew safe

Fishing vessel SEGREDOS DO MAR sank in the morning Oct 23 some 3 nm off Sesimbra port, south of Lisbon, Portugal, after stranding on coastal rocks. 14 crew were rescued by rescue boat, police boat and nearby fishing vessel.
