Explosion on board, 1 crewmember killed, 1 injured taken to hospital
The Russian MRCC reported on Oct. 4, that an explosion had occurred on fish factory Sei Whale (3834 gt, built 1981), while on passage from Nouadhibou to Las Palmas in the North Atlantic. As a result of the explosion, one crew member was killed, and one was injured. The explosion occurred when the cleaning work of fish tank No.1 was underway. The vessel is continuing to Las Palmas and the injured crewman was taken to the hospital by the Spanish Coast Guard.
