Collision off Mizushima
The "Kokusho Maru" was in collision with the cargo m/v "Seiyo Maru No. 8" in position 34 29 11 N, 133 43 57 E near Mizushima on Sep 4, 2019, at 1.30 p.m. Both ships suffered bow damage. In addition, the "Seiyo No.8" sustained damage to its bottom with ensuing water ingress. No oil spill or injuries were reported. The tanker had sailed from Matsuyama on Sep 1 and was moored in pos. 34° 28.51' N 133° 41.01' E on Mizushima anchorage. The "Seiyo Maru No. 8" entered the port of Mizushima on Sep 6 at 9 a.m.
