Repairs to last until end of July

Repairs of the 'Severnaya Zemlya' were expected to be complete by the end of July. Upon completion of permanent repair works, a sea trial performance test will be carried out under the supervision of a class surveyor. The vessel remains stationary at the Yasarsan shipyard in Altinova.

Bulk carrier under repair in Altinova

The 'Severnaya Zemlya' arrived at Yalova anchorage under tow on May 13 and entered the Yasarsan Shipyard in Altinova on June 18 at 12.50 p.m. upon completion of customs formalities. Repairs have commenced, and thickness measurement were carried out by the appointed survey company. Steel replacement was being carried out as well, and a new set of spare parts have been provided by the vessel owners.

Abandoned ship under tow to Yalova

On April 17, 2021, the 'Severnaya Zemlya', which had been seized at Aviles, nearly 35 months ago for various defiencies, , has been taken in tow by the tug 'Sea Lord' (IMO: 8325119) towards Yalova for repairs. The convoy arrived at Yalova Anchorage on May 13. The vessel entered the shipyard upon completion of the customs formalities on May 14.
