Two Bourbon Ofshore crew abducted off Nigeria freed

Fri Mar 25 12:32:41 CET 2016 arnekiel

Bourbon Offshore has announced that the two crew members abducted from Bourbon Liberty 251 off Nigeria last month have been released. The company said the two crew, a Nigerian and a Russian, are in good health. No further information was provided. The news comes just a day after the Russian embassy in Nigeria denied reports that the Russian crew member abducted was killed by the pirates in the attack. A government crackdown on oil theft is fuelling the notable increase in kidnapping and sabotage attacks in the Niger Delta as regional militant gangs move away from oil theft as their preferred source of revenue.
