Collision in Majuro
The "Solomon Sapphire" nearly capsized on June 16, 2019, after being rammed by the Taiwanese fishing boat "Wind Best 707" in Majuro while at anchor. She was hit at the starboard foreship. The crew was initially told to abandon ship, but the vessel righted itself, though with a significant list, and the only damage appeared to be a huge dent in the bow. The captain on the Taiwanese boat was injured, but the crew on the "Solomon Sapphire", consisting of seven Solomon Islanders, nine Filipinos and three Portuguese, one each from New Zealand, Panama and the Dominican Republic was safe.
