Cruise ship suffered engine trouble

The 'Star Legend' en route from Kirkwall to Douglas, Isle of Man, with 357 people on board, suffered a starboard engine damage in position 55 17 31 N, 006 31 52 W on Aug 18, 2022. The vessel was making its way to Douglas with the port side engine power without repairs being affected. It then proceeded to Dun Laoghaire harbour. The ship left the port again with tug assistance on Aug 20 at 7.20 p.m. was anchored in pos. 52° 08.80' N 006° 58.20' E off the port on Aug 21 at 8.45 a.m.

Windstar Returns to Asia with 7 Sailings from September 2018 to April 2019

Windstar Cruises’ second season for the 212-passenger Star Legend kicks off in the fall of 2018 in Asia after her inaugural Alaska season this summer. The return to Asia for Windstar in 2018/19 will bring four new cruises, as well as the recurrence of four of the company’s most popular cruises from its 2017/18 season sailing in the region for a total of 27 sailings for travelers to choose from. Windstar has increased departures for Japan cruises timed with its famous cherry blossom season and fall foliage. New Asia itineraries include a comprehensive exploration of greater China; an Asian “pop culture” journey from Tokyo to South Korea and Beijing; a Thailand and Malaysia cruise big on beaches and big cities; and a new itinerary discovering Indonesia, including magical Bali.

Windstar Cruises to return to Alaska in 2018

Windstar Cruises is to sail four new cruise tours in Alaska in May 2018, returning to the region for the first time in 20 years. To be offered on the 212-guest Star Legend, the cruise tours will enable passengers to spend up to 20 days exploring Alaska by land and sea. Highlights will include kayaking, exploring glaciers with experienced glaciologists and marine biologists, and onboard lectures from Windstar’s expeditions experts.
