SANKO Steamship has been granted the release of Supramax bulker Sanko Mineral from US arrest in port of Baltimore after nearly 3 months.

Medevac leaves cargo ship without master

The Coast Guard medevaced the master of the "Sanko Mineral" which was anchored in the Annapolis Harbor on july 12, 2012. Coast Guard Sector Baltimore was contacted at approximately 11 a.m. reporting the man required medical assistance. The vessel's representative played a critical role in relaying the master's distress to the Coast Guard. A boatcrew aboard a 45-foot Response Boat – Medium from Coast Guard Station Annapolis arrived on scene and transferred the man aboard. He was given emergency oxygen while transiting back to the stationm then he was transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel and taken to Anne Arundel County Medical Center in Annapolis.
