Disabled trawler to be towed to safety

The 'Syatogor' suffered a prpulsion loss after its nets got entangled around the propeller in vicinity 51 55 43 N, 156 03 10 E, while being engaged in crab fishing in the Sea of Okhotsk in the morning of Jan 19, 2023. From the port of Severo-Kurilsk, the Russian-flagged salvage tug 'Spravedlivyj' was mobilized to assist the fishing vessel.

Engine failure in Sea of Okhotsk

The "Svyatogor" suffered engine failure in the Sea of Okhotsk, 260 miles SW of Magadan, on May 20, 2018. The roller bearing on the shaft of the clutch drive oil pump failed. The shipowner has decided to have the vessel towed to the port of Magadan with the assistance of the salvage tug "Sibirskiy", which was located 380 nautical miles from the "Svyatogor". In the meantime the fishing vessel "Regul" went on standby. The fishing vessel arrived at Magadan on May 22 at 1.10 p.m.

On Apr 9, 2018, at 5.30 a.m. the "Svyatogor", while fishing in the Sea of Okhotsk, sustained a major steering gear breakdown. The Russian salvage tug "Predannyy" was sent to the scene to assist, and the Russian flagged fishing vessel "Seawind" went on standby to provide safety cover. On Apr 10 at 3.50 a.m. the "Predannyy" took the "Svyatogor" in tow en route Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, where it arrived on Apr 12 and sailed again on Apr 17.
