Master of barge rescued woman from the water

The emergency services were alerted on Feb 9, 2022, at 3 p.m. after a woman fell into the water of the Maas in Gennep. The master of the 'The An XIV' rescued her. When he saw the woman in the water he steered his ship almost perpendicular to the fairway so that she could not drift further. He then fished her out of the water. She was then taken care of on the vessel by the emergency services. She was suffering from hypothermia and has been transferred to the Radboud Hospital in Nijmegen. Several emergency services responded to the accident, including a trauma helicopter.
