Typhoon beached cargo ships
Four freighters were beached by the typhoon Talas on July 17, 2017, among them the "Thai Ha 26" and the "Truong Than 88". She was high and dry near Cua Lo port. Both were anchored off Cua Lo Beach and drifted ashore during the Talas passage. The "Thai Ha 26" was surrended by an oil boom. The "Minh Khanh 09" was pushed up against the bank of the Lam River as the "Viet Dung 36", a salt carrier. Beachside attractions like amusement park rides were also severely damaged by wind and flooding. The typhoon Talas also had sunk the cargo ship "VTB 26", with two of its 13 crew members still missing, seven rescued and one having been recovered dead.
