Engine room flooding on the Waal

n the Waal bear Druten the "Willem Jr.“ suffered water ingress in the engine room on July 30, 2011. An inland tank m/v towed the casualty to the quay where it was kept afloat with a dewatering pump of the fire rescue. The engine room was found flooded. The water ingress near the propeller shaft could only be stopped after the engine room was emptied.
