Medevac off Cabo de Gata

Wed Jul 19 11:42:03 CEST 2017 Timsen

Salvamento Marítimo has evacuated a 22-year-old crew member of the "William Butler Yeats" who was suffering from a spontaneous pneumothorax 35 miles from Cabo de Gata, Almería, on July 18, 2017. About 07:10 a.m. the ship requested the medevac of the man on the recommendation of the doctors on board. The MRCC's in Almería and Cartagena deployed the Helimer Helicopter 215, based at the airport of Almería which hoisted the patient who arrived at the air port at 10 a.m. along with a doctor of the ship. An ambulance transferred him to the Hospital Torrecárdenas of Almería.
