Piston damage off Galicia
The 'Zetagas', while enroute from Antwerp to Morocco loaded with almost 4,000 tons of butane, suffered a problem with one of its pistons off the coast of Galicia on Dec 22, 2020. The breakdown reduced the power of the engines by 30%, so its captain notified the problem to Salvamento Marítimo and the port captain of A Coruña and requested to enter the port of A Coruña. The authorities granted him authorization to take shelter in the outer port of Punta Langosteir with an ETA as pf 6 p.m. assisted by tugs and a pilot from A Coruña. After repairs, which were expected to take 24 hours, the ship was to continue sailing to Morocco.
