The KMP 'Gerbanga Samudra 5' ran aground in the waters near LCM Gilimanuk Pier, Gilimanuk Village, Melaya District, Jembrana, on May 25, 2024, at around 05.10 a.m. WITA after being dragged by the current. The ferry successfully evacuated at around 08.55 a.m. The ship had just left the LCM Gilimanuk Pier at around 05.05 a.m. en route to Ketapang with cargo. During the turning manoever, strong currents and winds caught the ship which ran aground. The captain immediately lowered the ramp to prevent the ship from being dragged further, about 50 meters from the LCM Gilimanuk Pier. During the high tide, the ship refloate at 08.55 a.m.. At 09.15 a.m. it docked at LCM Gilimanuk Pier, and the unloading process continued. Because one of the trucks broke down, it was only finished at 11.40 a.m. . After unloading the cargo, the ship was inspected by a Marine Inspector from the Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) and officers from the Gilimanuk Port Organizing Unit. On May 25, 2024, the 'Osaka' loaded with 40696 tons of petroleum products, was dragged ashore off the coast of Haydarpaşa due to a rudder failure en route from Norovosyisk to Mersin. A migrant boat was in need of assistance 2.5 nautical miles from La Restinga on May 24. The CCS Tenerife of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Adhara', which located a canoe with 63 sub-Saharan people, among them 58 men, four women and one minor, on board.
