Freight traffic volumes at the port of Oulu (Finland) in the I quarter of 2011 increased by 7.1% compared with Jan-Mar, 2010, to 843,267 tons. The port's container throughput during the period rose by 13.4%, the Port Authority said. The highest growth was recorded in handling of exported pitch (+123%), the volumes of timber and liquid chemicals significantly increased. Imports of carbonate and bulk cargo rose 18.2% and 31.7% accordingly.
