Konecranes wins large repeat order for container cranes in Lithuania
SSC Klaipedos Smelte in the Port of Klaipeda, Lithuania, has placed a large repeat order with Konecranes for ten Rubber Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes and two Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes. The delivery of the RTG cranes will be completed in November 2019 and the STS cranes in December 2019.
Klaipeda remains Baltics’ No 1 container port
Klaipeda remained the number one seaport in the Baltic countries in terms of container handling in January through July 2017, the port’s authority said, cites LETA/BNS. The Lithuanian port handled 256,100 TEUs during the seven months, up 2.4% from 250,000 in the same period last year. TEU traffic in Riga Freeport increase by 13.89% to 245,200 and Tallinn posted an 8% rise to 121,900 units. The Latvian port of Liepaja saw its TEU traffic double to 2,500 units. Gas from Lithuanian LNG terminal will be stored in the Latvian Inčukalns storage facility for the first time
The liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Klaipėda operated by KN is likely to accept LNG from the USA for the first time this summer and the user of the LNG terminal, UAB Lietuvos dujų tiekimas, plans to store part of the LNG to be acquired this summer in the Latvian Inčukalns natural gas storage facility for the first time. KN says natural gas supply and trading company Lietuvos dujų tiekimas, which signed an agreement regarding the supply of LNG with the US company Cheniere Marketing International, buys liquefied natural gas through the LNG terminal in Klaipėda.Upload News
