Tallink’s cargo ship Sea Wind starts operating from Muuga Harbour instead of Tallinn Old City Harbour
Tallink, in partnership with Port of Tallinn and Transiidikeskuse AS, has re-routed its cargo ship Sea Wind to start operating from Muuga Harbour instead of the Tallinn Old City Harbour. Tallink says this move means that more than 40,000 lorries per year will be removed from Tallinn city centre and congestion and pollution in the city will be significantly reduced. On June 19, Estonian port Muuga (Tallinn) welcomed the largest ever boxship in the history of port - Celina Star (flag of Liberia), press center of Tallinna Sadam says. The ship’s length is 243.1 m, breadth – 32.2 m, deadweight – 40,000, capacity – 3,430 TEUs. The ship came from Hamburg and left for Ust-Luga on June 20.
