Tanger Med Tops Africa’s Container Ports

Tanger Med was ranked as the first container port in Africa and the 45th in the world in a survey by World Top Container Ports. With a capacity of 3 million containers, the Moroccan port has handled 3,312,409 containers in 2017 that is 11% over its capacity.

Super Post-Panamax Cranes Arrive at APMT Tangier

Three fully-automated ship-to-shore (STS) cranes have arrived at the new APM Terminals MedPort Tangier, Morocco terminal as part of an upgrade to give it an annual container throughput capacity of five million TEU by 2019.

12 new MedPort Tangier cranes en route

The first group of three, of a total of 12 advanced remotecontrolled ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, has departed China for delivery on February 15th to the new APM Terminals MedPort Tangier, Morocco terminal. Manufactured by ZPMC in Shanghai, the super post-Panamax cranes will be able to accommodate 20,000 TEU vessels.
