Storm kept cruise ship from call at La Palma
On Nov 25, 2017, the "AIDAblu" was unable to call at Santa Cruz de La Palma due to a storm. The ship was on d 10-day cruise around the Canaries, Prtugal and Spain. A thunderstorm with strong wind gusts led to the decision to turn away from the port short before docking.
Cruise ship assisted distressed boaties
The "AidaBlu" assisted a boat in distress enroute from Palma to Sant Elm on Oct 3, 2015. The cruise ship remained on standby while assets of Salvamento Marítimo saved the Crew of two of the slowly sinking vessel. After it had gone down, the cruise ship resumed its voyage. Medevac off Toulon
In the morning of May 3, 2015 the CROSS MED was alerted by the "Aidablu" after a passenger of 50 years fell ill. A medical consultation was carried out between the ship and the centre of maritime medical consultation (CCMM) in Toulouse and an urgent medical evacuation to hospital was determined. The ship was about 160 km from Toulon and sailed towards Marseille. A Dauphin helicopter of the Navy with a doctor and a nurse from the UAS 83 on board was dispatched, and the patient was prepared for the hoist and taken to the hospital St Musse of Toulon.Upload News
