Attempt to enter port of Santa Cruz de La Palma aborted
Despite several attempts the "AIDAsol" was unable to enter the port of Santa Cruz de La Palma in the morning of March 16. Strong wind gusts and under currents kept the ship from approaching the port despite tugs having been ready to assist. The "AIDAsol" was drifted southwards towards cliffs by the currents, and the attempt to reach port was aborted. The ship headed to Santa Cruz de Tenerife instead, ETA 9 p.m. German report with photo: https://lapalma1.net/2018/03/16/aidasol-hat-auf-la-palma-ein-problem/Upload News
