Attempt to enter port of Santa Cruz de La Palma aborted

Fri Mar 16 21:20:26 CET 2018 Timsen

Despite several attempts the "AIDAsol" was unable to enter the port of Santa Cruz de La Palma in the morning of March 16. Strong wind gusts and under currents kept the ship from approaching the port despite tugs having been ready to assist. The "AIDAsol" was drifted southwards towards cliffs by the currents, and the attempt to reach port was aborted. The ship headed to Santa Cruz de Tenerife instead, ETA 9 p.m. German report with photo: https://lapalma1.net/2018/03/16/aidasol-hat-auf-la-palma-ein-problem/

AIDA Cruises’ AIDAsol made the last of 24 scheduled calls to the port of Hamburg

Mon Oct 24 09:26:24 CEST 2016 arnekiel

AIDA Cruises’ AIDAsol made the last of 24 scheduled calls to the port of Hamburg in Germany on 19 October. AIDAsol docked a total of 16 times at the Großer Grasbrook cruise terminal in Hamburg, where she was supplied with low-emission power by Becker Marine Systems’ LNG hybrid barge. Although AIDAsol was first successfully powered by the LNG barge on 30 May 2015, this year marked the first time that the ship was supplied with power by the barge throughout an entire season. http://www.cruiseandferry.net/articles/AIDAsol-departs-from-Hamburg-for-the-Canaries#.WA23cvmDy9I
