Medevac off Gran Canaria
Salvamento Marítimo medevaced a seriously injured sailor from the 'AIDAstella' in the night of Dec 26, 2020, in waters near Gran Canaria, and transferred him by helicopter to the Doctor Negrín University Hospital, where he was admitted. Around 9:00 p.m. the captain of the 'AIDAstella' alerted the Las Palmas Maritime Center that one of his crew members had broken his leg and needed health care. Immediately, a rescue mission was started and the Helimer 222 helicopter headed to the ship and hoisted the wounded. He was taken to the helisurface of Doctor Negrín (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), where an ambulance of the Canary Islands Emergency Service was waiting for him.
Medevac off Tarifa
In the morning of May 8, 2019, the "Salvamar Arcturus" medevaced a 84-year-old passenger from the "Aidastella". The patient was taken along with her daughter to the port o Tarifa, where she was cared of by an ambulance.
Cruise ship skipped call in Palma due to storm
The "AIDAStella" had to skip its call at Santa Cruz de La Palma on March 8, 2019, due to stormy winds with wind speeds of up to 65 km/h.
