Medevac off Juneau

The US Coast Guard medevaced a 23-year-old woman from the 'American Constellation' in Tracy Arm, approximately 40 nautical miles southeast of Juneau, Alaska, on Aug 1, 2022. Watchstanders from the Coast Guard Sector Juneau command center received a report at 10:11 a.m. from the Alaska State Troopers regarding an inReach activation about the woman who was experiencing anaphylactic shock symptoms aboard the cruise ship. Watchstanders diverted an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter of the Air Station Sitka from a training flight to the scene which arrived on scene at 11:30 a.m., hoisted the patient, and transported her to awaiting EMS in Juneau.

Fire on cruise ship injured two

Two people suffered minor injuries in the morning of May 16, 2019, after a small fire broke out on deck 1 of the "AMerican Constellation" in the Thea Foss Waterway. The Tacoma Fire Department was alerted about 9 a.m. Fire crews responded and were able to quickly extinguish the fire, though it took several hours to ventilate the smoke. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
